Connecting Talent Acquisition to Project Demand

Give recruiters the delivery context behind a vacancy, from required skills to the date a new employee must be ready.

An approved position does not explain why the business needs it. Recruiters also need the project context, required capability, commercial constraints and realistic joining window. Without them, hiring can meet its own target while delivery still misses its start date.

Explain the delivery requirement behind the vacancy

Recruiters need more than a designation and an opening count. The business requirement should describe the work, essential skills, experience, start window and commercial constraints. That context helps distinguish a candidate who meets a generic job description from someone who can meet the actual delivery need.

Carry that context through candidate evaluation

Use the same requirements in screening and interview scorecards. If the project changes, update the requisition and tell the recruiting team which criteria changed. Otherwise, selection can continue against a brief the business no longer needs.

  • Demand source and accountable hiring manager.
  • Essential capability versus preferences.
  • Required date versus realistic joining date.
  • Pre-onboarding dependencies and readiness owner.

Treat joining readiness as a separate milestone

An accepted offer does not establish deployment readiness. Documents, checks, notice periods, joining confirmation and orientation can still affect the date. Track these dependencies explicitly. Where a start date is uncertain, resource planning should retain that uncertainty rather than treating the person as available.

Close the loop with resource management

Once the candidate becomes an employee, carry verified skills, organizational information and joining status into the workforce record. The resource team can then review allocation against the original demand. Recruitment succeeds operationally when the new capacity is ready for suitable work, not simply when an offer is accepted.
