Salesforce-Native PSA: What Buyers Should Evaluate

Evaluate data ownership, workflow fit, permissions and integration scope alongside the Salesforce-native proposition.

A platform label does not tell a buyer how an operating process will work. The useful question is how customer and opportunity context reaches resource, delivery and finance teams, and what responsibilities remain in other systems.

Native architecture is a starting point, not the whole evaluation

A Salesforce-based services platform can place operational records closer to customer and opportunity context. Buyers still need to understand how the specific application models projects, resources, time and financial handoffs. The word native does not answer every question about configuration or integration.

Follow the data and permission model

Ask which records are shared, how ownership is assigned and how access is restricted. Review the impact of existing custom objects and approval processes. The team responsible for the environment should be involved before a polished demonstration becomes an implementation assumption.

  • Record relationships and system ownership.
  • Access controls and sensitive employee information.
  • Integration boundaries and failure recovery.
  • Implementation scope, support and environment requirements.

Ask where integration still matters

Payroll, finance and productivity tools may remain outside Salesforce. For each retained system, define the source of truth, synchronization direction and error owner. Clarify what happens when a transaction fails or a commercial record changes after it has been synchronized.

Make the demonstration answer implementation questions

Bring an actual opportunity and follow it through project setup, staffing and billing readiness. Ask for the configuration decisions, licensing assumptions and integration responsibilities to be documented. Confirm platform-specific details with the provider for your environment before purchasing.
